Ribeiroia, a group of trematodes which prey on all kinds of animals, ranging from snails to birds.
Some species of Ribeiroia will invade tadpoles at the larval stage. As the tadpole turns into a frog, the tremadote manipulates the body chemistry to create rather disturbing mutations; the host will sometimes even grow extra body parts, all just to hamper it and make it easier to catch for predators, whose intestines are Ribeiroia’s goal for this journey.
Rince and repeat!
TOO COOL.
